Senso-ji Shinto Shrine

This is the entrance to Senso-ji temple, a shinto shrine.  The dragon in a circle is the bottom of the paper lantern I'm holding!  :)

My first fortune was a bad one so I tied it off to leave my troubles behind!  The smoke is supposed to heal you or make you healthy.  You waft it over your head.

I loved this visit!  The Tori Gates lead you to the shrine.  I shopped at the stalls along the path.  There is also a wishing/prayer ribbon which leads to the Buddha.  Most of Tokyo feels very modern, with many things being similar to Chicago, but this is different.   It is ancient and feels uniquely Japanese!
