Indigo Dye House

The Indigo Dye House was originally a merchants home and store.  They showed us the amazing ways it converts to add or take away walls.  A convertible house!  It is a registered historical site along with the well out back.
They dye and quilt beautiful items here.

Our group was featured in the local papers in Japan.  Here is one of the articles about us.  We were photographed and I was interviewed at the Indigo Dye House.  I know it may be a little hard for some of you to read (being in Japanese and all), but the highlighted section is my name.  We were making Japanese Towels.  They are a popular gift in Japan, I said I was going to use mine as a scarf.  I was given a couple of of others as gifts which I may use as wall hangings.

They were very generous.  Parent volunteers gave us the tour, helped us make our towels, and served us treats afterwards.  Plus, the whole town gave us gifts.  What great people!

Hey Aunt Janice,

I'm home now. But, I'll continue blogging for a while because I wasn't able to keep up being without internet access. Now I am busy back at school though!

Love you,
Sharon
